Starlight, Beyond Light Pollution 2016
**** The Astro-photography and Timelapse Workshop ****
! UPDATED 19 MAY 2016 !
Due to lack of inscriptions, unfortunately we had to cancel this event.
It will be planned again for next year.
Besides the "Starlight, beyond light pollution" workshop, we will organise a short
astro-photography and timelapse workshop, to be lectured by the famous astro-photographer
astronomers
Dr. José Francisco Salgado
(Society "KV265 - Science through Art", experimental photographer, visual artist and science
communicator based in the United States) and possibly
Dr. Daniel López
("El cielo de Canarias" and the "Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias").
This optional workshop will include at least one classroom session in the hotel
(3h) and two or three night sessions in an astronomical mirador (viewpoint) in "Roque
de los Muchachos" (altitude 2300m, surrounded by the breathtaking panorama on the
edge of the Caldera de Taburiente) and another nearby mountain location.
The astro-photography and timelapse workshop will run, tentatively free of charge,
as part of the main package. The participants' own astro-photo equippment (such as
photo camera, tripod, small telescope, laptop) is welcomed but not mandatory.
We include here some astro-photography taken by a few participants part of the former
Romanian expeditions in La Palma 2010 - 2015: Valentin Grigore, Nelu Rugan, Alex Florescu,
Klaus Lowitz and Catalin Paduraru and some outstanding time-lapse by Daniel Lopez and
Jose Francisco Salgado.
